The boys are back in town and so is Max

So was just about to post about the lads being back in training yesterday and was going to mention that among Christina Openshaw's many photo's taken at the session (see Heys twitter page for all Photo's ) former Heys legend Max White was spotted training with the lads (see below) and as I type it has just been announced he is rejoining the club after leaving in December last year.

Max has played 139 games for Heys mostly from from midfield scoring 22 goals and a dead ball specialist will be a welcome addition to next season's squad already boosted last week by the arrival of

Jack Turnbull from Chadderton who can play in various positions, manager Matt Barnes will be very happy to get two key men in so early in the summer to prepare for the 2020-21 season.

So the first major training session took place yesterday and I am reliably informed the lads were put through a rigorous work out after Matt Barnes bizarrely recalled in an interview with Stephen Howard last week the players had been doing training sessions via the Zoom app!.

We await dates still for the start of the new season with the League and FA meeting on the 19th June to 'discuss options' for 2020-21.

With the squad already being strengthened and some other 'new faces' spotted yesterday and other new signings to come in the summer Heys are already starting to look the part for the new campaign.
